This week, my car, a 2003 Toyota Corolla, hit 88,888 miles. Thanks to NBC and the Beijing Olympics, I know that in China 8 is considered a very lucky number. I felt lucky I noticed the mileage in the exact minute that number hit the odometer, as I haven't looked at it in many months.
At the Vons today, my total at checkout was $8.88. Perhaps this is the start of something good.
